This course satisfies the guidelines of OSHAD-SF – CoP – 4.0 – First Aid and Medical Emergency

The Level 2 International Award in Emergency First Aid at Work is an UK High field International qualification aimed at providing learners with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to support emergency first aid in the workplace.  It is accredited and recognized internationally and has been developed to protect customers, brand reputation and profits.

Learning Objectives

Learners will be able to understand the principles of First Aid and Basic Life Support

Learners will be able to demonstrate how to contact Emergency Services

Learners will be able to describe the content and usage of Medical Equipment in the workplace

Learners will be able to perform an initial assessment of the victim

5

Learners will be able to a manage medical and traumatic emergencies

Learners will be able to demonstrate ways of Rescuing different casualties

Course Outline

Day One
  • Understanding the role and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Be able to assess an incident
  • Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
  • Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
  •  Know how to recognize and assist a casualty who is choking
  • Managing a casualty with external bleeding and in shock
  • Managing a casualty with a minor injury

Day Two
  • Managing a casualty with a minor injury
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with other major injuries
  • First aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis.
  • Be able to manage a casualty with Burn
  • Administer first for major illnesses 
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with Heat Stress and Hypothermia
  • Understanding how to avoid heat stress Be able to manage a casualty Emergency Moves
