Course Overview

Where an organization’s Training Need Analysis identifies that there is a requirement for    Spill Prevention and Spill Control Training for staff to have a safe, environmentally protected and quality managed place of work then this course satisfies the requirements. 

 

This 1-day training will develop relevant skills and knowledge to have effective implementation of Spill Prevention and Spill Management in your organization.  

 

This training offers a general understanding of the chemical handling requirements in line with UAE Federal Law, OSHAD and Environment Agency, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards and their requirements with practical implementation in your organization. 

Learning Objective

The objective of this course is to help you recognize the ways you can avoid chemical loss and prevention techniques, safety of staff and others from harm of spillage, control of pollution of the local waterways with chemical contaminated run-offs

    By the end of this session delegates will be able to: 

    • Recognize that there is a Spillage Prevention Plan in place. 
    • Identify legal and regulatory requirements related to chemical handling. 
    • Identify chemical safety requirements. 
    • Demonstrate the: 

    a. Proper procedures for preventing all possible oil spills. 

    b. Correct way to respond to both small and large oil releases/spills. 

    • Identify and report potential oil spill pathways. 
    • Apply procedures that will protect access points that might allow possible oil 

    spills into waterways.

    Identify legal and regulatory requirements related to chemical handling. 

    • Identify all possible legal requirements related to chemical handling in Abu Dhabi UAE 
    • Identify all possible regulatory requirements related to chemical handling in Abu Dhabi UAE 

     

    Identify chemical safety requirements. 

    • Identify chemical safety requirements related to chemical handling incidents. 
    • Identify Hazcom requirements 
    • Understand chemical labels 
    • Understand MSDS/SDS 
    • Identify requirements of Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) 
    • Identify NFPA labels
