Course Overview
The Cradle Operator course is aimed to give the candidate orientation on dealing with
its operation and use as per standard International rules.
Learning Objectives

Learners will be able to Identify parts of a suspended access system including safety equipment and systems.

Learners will be able to operate temporary suspended access equipment correctly in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and with regard to site conditions.

Learners will carry out emergency procedures and use emergency equipment safely and effectively.

Learners will be able to describe duties and responsibilities and attributes of a temporary suspended access equipment operator.

Learners will be able to describe basic duties of the supplier appointed person and user appointed person and the importance of effective communication.

✓ Cradle Hazards and accidents
o All Hazards associated with cradle operation are covered in detail and
participants are taught how to identify hazards.
✓ Cradle requirements
o This section deals with the different requirements of cradle as per OSHA
standards.
✓ Fall Protection
o Different types of fall protection methods that can be applied as per the
practical situation and its limitations.
✓ Accessories
o All Accessories used in cradle and their safe operational procedures. - Harness requirement
o Safe use of safety harness with vertical life line being discussed.

o This section covers the specifications of the guardrails used on Scaffolds.
