The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a globally recognized English proficiency test designed to assess the language abilities of individuals who wish to study, work, or migrate to English-speaking countries. It is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and Cambridge Assessment English. The test measures four key language skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.

The Academic module is intended for those who want to pursue higher education or professional registration, while the General Training module is for those aiming to migrate to an English-speaking country or undertake work experience or training programs. The test is scored on a 9-band scale, with each band representing a level of English proficiency, from non-user (Band 1) to expert (Band 9).
