Course Overview

This course satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for Emergency Management As per OSHAD SF (Course developed based on OSHAD SF Ver.3.1 and UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice 2017) and International standards of OHSAS 18001:2007

Fire safety in buildings or factories must be effectively managed. Therefore, this course aims to research on fire prevention, fire development, fire containment, fire extinguishing and as well as methods for the management of fire safety measures to reduce the consequences of fires on humans, the environment.

Course Outline

Day One

Introduction to  workplace emergency

o The course begins with an introduction to workplace emergency, emphasizing on the importance of looking after oneself and fellow colleagues with right actions in emergency by following Health and Safety guidelines.

Goals of an emergency response plan

o In this part of training participants will be able to understand Goals of an emergency response plan

OSHAD SF V. 3.1 ELEMENT – 6.0 – EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS

o In this part of training participants will be able to understand Element – 6.0 – Emergency Management Requirements

Identification of potential emergency scenario(s)

o In this part of training participants will be able to understand potential emergency scenario(s) as per Element – 6.0 – Emergency Management Requirements

Emergency Response Plans (ERPs)

o In this part of training participants will be able to understand Emergency Response Plans (ERPs) as per Element – 6.0 – Emergency Management Requirements

Emergency response personnel

Emergency Operations Center (EOC)

Fire Emergency Response

o In this part of training participants will be able to understand requirements of Fire Emergency Response as per Element – 6.0 – Emergency Management Requirements and UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice 2017 which includes Fire Emergency Response procedure, manual fire fighting, pass technique, correct selection and use of extinguisher, calling emergency, hints for dealing with different cases of fire emergencies.
