General Safety Awareness

Course Overview

This course delivers detail knowledge & skills in auditing OH&S Management systems in-line with      OSHAD and Internal standards.

The training that most employees require in order to detect, report, and regulate workplace safety and health concerns is referred to as general awareness. This course provides participants with basic information with a fundamental understanding of health and safety issues, as well as an understanding of potential hazards and threats. Individuals are made aware of their rights and obligations in order to ensure a safe working environment. It also helps people develop the skills and information they need to recognize and avoid potential threats.

Course Outline

Day One

  Introduction of asset management/facility management

o   The course begins with an introduction to facility/asset management where delegates would come to know about the technical terms and concepts of facility/asset management.   

  Introduction Bio Medical Safety

o   This portion of the training will deal with acceptance and commissioning of new medical devices, inventory of medical equipment, maintenance of medical equipment, clinical alarm use, calibration of devices, and evacuation plan etc.

  What is Bio medical audit?

o   This part of the training will deal with basic terms of audit, kind of audit, opening meeting, criteria of audit, closing meeting, issuance of NCRs and observations and preparation of final audit report.

  What are Health and Safety?

o   This part of training will deal with the general concept of health and safety e.g. hazard, likelihood, consequences, risk, risk management, risk assessment, incident reporting and investigation etc.

o   Guarding and protection while working with power tools

o   Non-mechanical and chemical hazards with the power tools

 

Day Two

  Introduction about use of ladders and COP 37 of OSHAD 

o   Safe use of ladders

o   Composition of ladders

o   Kinds of ladder etc.

  What is Work at Height and safe operations?

o   COP 23 of OSHAD

o   Hazards associated with work at height

o   Safety procedures while preforming jobs on work at height

o   Awareness of safety harness, lifeline, warning line and retractable devices

  What are power tools?

o   Hazards associated with power tools

o   Sources of energy for power tools

o   Guarding and protection while working with power tools

o   Non-mechanical and chemical hazards with the power tools

o   Safe procedures

  What is PTW?

o   Kind of PTWs

o   When PTW is required

o   What are the common terms used in PTWs

o   Roles and responsibilities of permit issuer

o   Roles and responsibilities of permit holder etc.
